ActiveCampaign Offers Advanced Automation Tools

If you’re serious about email marketing, ActiveCampaign is one platform that stands out for its advanced automation tools. Unlike basic email services, it goes beyond just scheduling emails—it allows you to create highly personalized customer journeys based on behavior, engagement, and even CRM data.

One of my favorite features is the visual automation builder, which makes it easy to map out sequences that respond to how subscribers interact with your emails. Whether it’s lead nurturing, abandoned cart recovery, or post-purchase follow-ups, the platform ensures your messaging is timely and relevant.

HighLevel Provides Powerful Automation Features

I’ve used several email marketing platforms over the years, but HighLevel stands out as the most powerful when it comes to advanced email automation. It’s more than just an email tool—it’s a full marketing and sales automation system that connects email, SMS, CRM, and funnels all in one place.

What makes HighLevel so effective? Automation that works like a well-oiled machine. I can create multi-step email sequences triggered by user behavior, segment lists based on lead activity, and even integrate SMS follow-ups to keep engagement high. The drag-and-drop email builder makes it easy to design emails, and the built-in A/B testing helps optimize subject lines and content for better results.

One of my favorite features is AI-powered personalization—I can send highly targeted emails based on lead scoring, past interactions, and engagement levels. Plus, with detailed analytics and reporting, I always know what’s working and what needs improvement.

I’ve tried other platforms like HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, and Klaviyo, and while they have solid automation, HighLevel gives me the flexibility and integration I need to manage client campaigns seamlessly. If you’re serious about scaling email marketing while keeping everything centralized, this is the platform to use.

Force24 Integrates Deeply with NetSuite

Our marketing strategy is built around precision targeting and automation, ensuring that we engage the right customers at the right time. One of the most powerful tools in our marketing arsenal is Force24, which seamlessly integrates with NetSuite, our CRM, to deliver hyper-focused, data-driven campaigns.

Force24’s deep integration with NetSuite allows us to build dynamic data lists based on key customer attributes such as:

  • ZIP codes, industries, and sub-industries – enabling geo-targeted and sector-specific campaigns.
  • Machine ownership – allowing us to promote relevant consumables to customers based on their equipment.
  • Website behavior tracking – ensuring that we follow up with leads at the right time.

This granular level of segmentation means our customers receive highly relevant emails, making engagement more meaningful and conversion rates significantly higher.

The Journey System in Force24 is particularly powerful, allowing us to create multi-step email sequences based on customer behavior and purchase history.

Force24’s reporting and analytics provide real-time insights into how our emails are performing. We can track:

  • Open rates and click-through rates to measure engagement.
  • Website visits post-email interaction, helping us assess campaign effectiveness.
  • Human vs. bot interactions, which has been a game-changer for our telemarketing follow-ups.

By filtering out non-human interactions, our sales team can focus on genuine leads, improving efficiency and ensuring higher-quality conversations.

One of our most effective strategies involves Lead Forensics, which helps us identify visitors on our website who are researching a product they don’t yet own.

For example, if an existing customer browses a Morgan Rushworth Fiber Laser Cutter, but hasn’t previously purchased one, we can automatically enroll them in an email sequence offering product insights, financing options, and testimonials. This automated nurture approach keeps potential buyers engaged, increasing the likelihood of conversion.

Force24 has revolutionized how we approach marketing, allowing us to automate, personalize, and refine our campaigns for maximum impact. By integrating CRM data, leveraging website insights, and automating lead nurturing, we ensure that every email we send is highly relevant and strategically timed—leading to stronger relationships and increased sales.

Mailchimp Boosts Email Campaign Performance

When it comes to email marketing platforms with advanced tools for automation, I’ve had the pleasure of working with several top-notch solutions. One that stands out in particular is Mailchimp. I’ve had the opportunity to integrate Mailchimp with various content management systems, including WordPress, and I’ve been impressed by its seamless automation capabilities. With Mailchimp, you can create complex workflows that trigger specific actions based on subscriber behavior, preferences, and demographics.

From personal experience, I’ve seen how Mailchimp’s automation tools can significantly boost email open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates. By setting up automated email sequences in Mailchimp, we were able to personalize their communication, reduce manual effort, and increase engagement by over 30%.

FluentCRM Integrates with WordPress and WooCommerce

We use FluentCRM for email automation.

FluentCRM stands out because of its in-depth integration with WordPress and especially WooCommerce. It allows us to personalize email campaigns based on a customer’s purchase history or site activity.

Here are a few examples:

  1. We can automatically recommend complementary products after a customer buys one of our perfumes.
  2. We can remind customers by email to replace a product at the expected end-of-life
  3. We can send out reminders before key events such as birthdays, Valentine’s Day, Christmas, etc.

The ability to link FluentCRM with other apps through Zapier makes the possibilities to automate endless.

My advice is to prioritize automation tools that integrate well with your existing website, CRM, and e-commerce platform. In our case, these are WordPress and WooCommerce, which means less hassle and more time to focus on creating automations that make life easier for our customers.

Zoho Offers User-Friendly Automation

While there are many email marketing programs that provide advanced tools for automation, maybe the best would be the platform offered by Zoho. Many programs will offer automation features, but they will often be complex or have restrictions on sign-ups and trigger actions.

On the other hand, Zoho allows you to easily create sophisticated automation based on numerous needs, and offers nearly unlimited actions that can be taken through any email campaign. In addition, its cost is quite reasonable being as low as $5 per 500 subscribers. So while there are many plans that allow for email automation, the user-friendliness of its platform as well as the options it provides makes Zoho one of the best.

Klaviyo Provides Best-in-Class Data Analytics

There is no way you can get around email automations if you are a brand that wants to build real relationships with your current and future customers.

Your email list is the ONLY audience you Truly Own as a brand.

So make the most of it!

You need a platform to store all your leads. For ecom brands, the clear winner is Klaviyo.

They have best in class data analytics and automations (and basically endless platform integrations).

If it is out of your budget, increase your budget!

The only reason you wouldn’t choose Klaviyo is if you don’t need data analytics or UI. (But believe me, you do and you will and it’s a pain in the ass to switch later.)

Otherwise choose MailChimp (legacy email service provider with clunky UI and charges you for add-on features down the line, but works for a start).

Another cheaper option is Omnisend and if you’re looking for an enterprise CRM you will want HubSpot.

For everyone else, go get Klaviyo!

Once you have that, you need to set up your automations.

It would be great if you could send a personalized email to all of your customers manually, but ain’t nobody got the time for that!

So we need automations (or flows), and more importantly, we need to make automations that feel personalized.

So let’s get to work!

We’ll need 3 types of core flows: welcome, abandoned (browse, cart, and checkout) and post-purchase.

1. You’ll collect most of your new subscribers through a pop-up on your site.

People give their emails for a promised discount, so send it to them immediately, in the first email of the Welcome Flow.

The most important thing is to make sure that your offer is compelling. You can A/B test to optimize this (even a 1% increase in opt-in rate can have a huge impact, so dial this in)!

Bad offer = no subscribers -> NOTHING YOU DO FROM HERE will be any good.

After the first Welcome Flow email, remind them of the discount expiration followed by value emails (such as social proof and brand/product educational content).

End with an upgraded discount to get the rest of the non-buyers over the line.

2. You’ll want abandoned flows for people who checked out your stuff BUT didn’t buy.

Do it for browsing, cart-adds, and checkout abandonments.

NEVER send to people who’ve finished their purchase.

Same structure as the welcome flow. Discount, reminder, social proof, upgraded offer!

3. Always have a post-purchase sequence. Use it to get customer feedback, give extra value, and cross-sell.
