From my experience, WordPress is fine for personal blogs, but when it comes to companies and organizations, security becomes a real concern. WordPress is one of the most targeted CMSs, and a single vulnerable plugin can put an entire website at risk. I learned this the hard way when I lost one of my highest-traffic blogs back in 2020 due to a security breach caused by a plugin. 

If you don’t want to rely on endless security patches and paid plugins, a headless CMS like Strapi or Contentful is a better option. WordPress Offers Simplicity and Flexibility

I prefer using WordPress over Shopify, Squarespace, or Wix. Why? Let me explain. Firstly, my main reason for choosing WordPress is its simplicity and flexibility. It allows you to easily add internal links that open in a new tab and apply a no-follow tag to any anchor text. In platforms like Shopify, you can open links in a new tab or window, but the built-in text editor lacks an option to add a no-follow tag. 

Secondly, WordPress makes it effortless to add Open Graph data, such as social media preview information. Plugins like Yoast and Rank Math are free on WordPress, whereas in Shopify, Yoast is paid, and Rank Math isn’t available. 

Thirdly, WordPress provides a seamless way to no-index pages, set up redirects, and edit metadata. It even displays character and pixel limits for meta descriptions, which other platforms don’t handle as effectively per Google’s guidelines. 

Overall, WordPress is a highly versatile CMS, making it much easier to integrate HTML features into posts and pages—at least for me.
