Can you tell us about your journey into the field of marketing?
When I first ventured into the world of marketing, I intended to expand my skill set.
As a Japanese Linguist who had previously worked in renowned companies like IBM, learning marketing would give me a competitive edge over other language professionals. So, filled with enthusiasm, I took a leap of faith and quit my job after getting married, all set to start my own business in Japan.
However, just as I was getting started, the unexpected happened – COVID struck, and all my plans seemed to crumble away. It was a challenging time, but I decided to make the most of it since I had already taken the plunge.
That’s when I came up with the idea of creating my website, which would be a valuable asset for my budding business.
As the Founder of WebEasy, how did you identify the need for tailored marketing strategies?
I have been a firm believer in the fact that people invest in people. With the digital boom, there are hundreds and thousands of marketing agencies today, but how many are ready to go that extra mile for their clients?
Anyone can run a FB Ad and generate leads for the brand. But to add to the brand’s emotion, you need to KNOW the brand. That’s one problem we identified.
The approach is straightforward: give your clients the attention they deserve, listen to them, and act on their feedback while keeping your ground firm with your expertise.
My business has grown due to referrals up until now, and the reason is that they love the personalized approach.
Marketing Agencies are not vendors. Instead, they are partners in growth.
What specific areas within content marketing do you specialize in, and why did you choose those areas?
We have developed expertise in content marketing in two key areas: copywriting and content strategy.
We chose to specialize in these areas due to their significant impact on building brand awareness, engaging audiences, and driving conversions.
I keep sharing this over and over that conversations lead to conversions. And developing the channels to speak to your audience through your content is the best way to build a pipeline of conversions.
Content and marketing perfectly blend, producing content and then marketing it. Unfortunately, doing just one of them will not yield results.
How can content marketing contribute to maximizing a company’s return on investment?
Content works on the compounding effect, you create it once, and depending on the channel you use, it can work for you for years compared to just marketing. You fuel in thousands of rupees. Once the money stops, marketing stops.
Content marketing, on the other hand, builds trust, credibility, and authority. I have a fascinating case study to share. We are working for a Doctor in the US. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a lot of strength as she didn’t have a reasonable ad budget.
What we had was an inactive email list and a social media account. For 3 months, we consistently created content and supported outreach to drive traffic to her Free Ebook and nurtured her list with a 7-Day Email Sequence sharing her story and regularly warmed up the list.
Result – 5 Conversions for 3000$ Service. That’s the power of CONTENT!
What qualities do you believe are essential for effective marketing leadership?
The only quality required to be a leader is not being SMART, ironic! If you are the smartest in the room, you’re in the wrong room, and that’s one belief that helps my company progress. Leadership is finding the strength in your team’s skill set.
I am an opportunity seeker. I say “YES” and think later, and that has got me to places, from being Rotary District Secretary to Elementor Community Leader for India. I have honed my leadership by saying Yes!
With the ever-evolving digital landscape, what challenges have you encountered in content marketing?
Technology advancements have been the biggest challenge in recent times.
The rapid advancements in technology bring both opportunities and challenges. Automation, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies reshape the content marketing landscape.
To embrace these changes, I stay aligned with emerging technologies and leverage tools and software that streamline content creation, distribution, and analytics.
By embracing innovative solutions, I optimize efficiency, enhance targeting capabilities, and stay ahead in the ever-evolving digital space.
My biggest win was that I didn’t stop; I had people who supported me to keep going.
My failures have brought the richest experience to my business, I have a long list, but I’ll share the two most important:
Inconsistent:
I started a particular project with a lot of excitement, dropped it halfway, and kept jumping from one idea to the next in the hunt for one big success.
Chasing Money:
Money will come to you when you least expect it. I kept chasing money because I got the idea that marketing is easy money.
My business flourished when I looked away from money and started focusing on processes & systems.
What tools or software do you rely on to enhance your marketing efforts?
In my marketing efforts, I rely on several tools and software that have significantly enhanced my work. These include:
Asana: We utilize Asana for task management, dramatically streamlining work completion. It has reduced the need for excessive emails and multiple meetings, allowing for efficient collaboration and clear communication.
Adobe & Canva: These graphic design tools are instrumental in creating visually appealing and engaging graphics. They enable us to communicate effectively through compelling visuals, enhancing our overall marketing efforts.
Zenler: Zenler is an all-in-one tool for funnels and marketing. It provides a comprehensive platform for managing our marketing campaigns, from creating sales funnels to executing marketing strategies.
Google Search Engine: Google Search Engine is an invaluable tool for in-depth research. It allows us to gather relevant information, explore market trends, and stay updated on industry developments. This research helps us make informed decisions and develop effective marketing strategies.
ChatGPT: We leverage ChatGPT, an AI-powered language model, to enhance our content creation process. It assists in generating creative and engaging content, providing valuable insights and inspiration for our marketing materials.
What are the emerging trends or strategies that marketers should pay attention to in the realm of content marketing?
Quality over quantity will always win over trends & strategies. However, there are a few strategies that work well:
- Video Content Dominance: Emphasize engaging video content for effective audience engagement.
- Interactive Content: Content that speaks to the audience. The more the reliability, the better the engagement
- Personalization: Tailor content based on individual preferences. By leveraging data and analytics, marketers can deliver personalized experiences that resonate with their target audience.
- AI and Automation: Leverage AI-powered tools to streamline content processes and gain insights.
- Purpose-driven Marketing: Incorporate responsible practices to connect with socially conscious audiences.
What advice would you give aspiring marketers looking to establish themselves in the industry?
Patience is the key!
Digital marketing is not a quick-rich scheme.
Refrain from overwhelming yourself with the trending reels that suggest making 1000$ a day with ChatGPT even for that you need a market to sell to, have patience.
Look out for opportunities, and most importantly, Don’t give up!
